Sergei Mironov about political murders in Ukraine

16 апреля 2015

Sergei Mironov, Chairman of Party A JUST RUSSIA, the leader of the State Duma party faction commented on the series of political murders in Ukraine:

Well-known Ukrainian journalist, writer and TV presenter Oles Buzina, who was a person of great courage, was killed in Kiev. Active citizenship was always his distinguishing feature as well as desire to make a very thoughtful analysis of events and explain their essence. During his life, Oleg Busina experienced real pressure and censorship, and it is owing to them that he had to leave the office of "The Today" newspaper where he was the Editor-in-Chief.

It is not the first political murder in Ukraine. Oleg Kalashnikov, a famous Ukrainian politician and one of Antimaidan founders was killed in Kiev on April 15. Today the Ukrainian media reported about the murder of journalist Sergey Sukhobok.

The issue of political murders in Ukraine emerged even today during "a direct line" with the President. Vladimir Putin stressed that in Europe and North America they prefer to ignore the series of political murders and their inappropriate investigation in Ukraine.

Will these murders be ever investigated? We would really like to believe in it. But as long as the present regime of Poroshenko is in office, there is faint hope.

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the deceased. I am sure that they gave their lives not in vain – for genuine freedom of Ukraine, and this is a holy cause..
