Mikhail Emelyanov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Innovations and Entrepreneurship, First Deputy Head of the A JUST RUSSIA party Duma faction and the representatives of the other Duma factions received a parliamentary delegation from Venezuela.

According to the parliamentarian, a new round of development of friendly relations between the two countries started after a meeting of RF President Vladimir Putin with Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez in 2000.

"After that, the decision was made to organize a special group on relations with Venezuela," Mikhail Emelyanov said.

As the politician declared, rapid development of the relations between our countries has been observed in the last 14 years at the highest levels, presidential and parliamentary.

"We already had perfect meetings with the Chairman of the Parliament of Venezuela where we shaped our new plans and projects, the inter-parliamentary cooperation was among them."

Here, in Russia, we know about a rather complicated situation Venezuela has found itself facing for the last years, and they, in Venezuela, of course, have heard about the problems Russia and Ukraine encountered," Mikhail Emelyanov said.

"The source of all these problems is approximately the same," he stressed. "We are grateful for the support you provide for our position regarding Ukraine."

Mikhail Emelyanov told the guests that he had seen (more than once) the materials about the actions of the American secret services and the agents of influence in Venezuela aimed at ‘swinging’ the situation in Venezuela and shaking the official state justice course pursued by the authorities of the country.

"Well, I hope they will not be able to do anything," supposed the politician. "I think so because people’s support is on our side and yours."

The representatives of the parliamentary delegation from Venezuela led by Saul Ortega, Deputy Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Chairman of Friendship Group Venezuela-Russia declared that the USA imperialism is really strengthening nowadays. The US has been continuing its economic and information war with Venezuela and making attempts to destabilize the country.

During the meeting, both sides expressed their wish to harmonize interaction between the two friendly countries and readiness to support each other during the time that is tough from both economic and political points of view.
