In response to the elections of the heads and parliaments of the Republics held in DPR and LPR on November 02, Petro Poroshenko will offer the Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to abolish the law on ‘special status’ for Donbas’ regions. Chairman of Party A JUST RUSSIA and the Leader of the State Duma party faction Sergey Mironov commented on the news.

"The statehood of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics is an accomplished fact," the parliamentarian declared. "The doubts some unbiased electoral observers might have had in this respect are dispelled by the elections of the heads and parliaments of DPR and LPR that took place on November 02."

According to Sergey Mironov, the result of the elections is not only the elected legitimate bodies of power but also assertion of capacity of two young republics to act as states.

"No matter what they say in this respect in Kiev, Washington or Brussels, these republics have become the established states by all standards, except (of course) the double ones," he stressed. "It means all Petro Poroshenko’s games be it ‘a special status’ for the South-East’ or its abolition make no difference because it is not the Kiev authorities who deal with this problem solution but people themselves. And the people have already made their choice".

The A JUST RUSSIA Chairman emphasized that in such a situation each responsible politician has to think not about the laws that ‘have lost their significance’ but ‘reality and he has no right to ignore it.’

"Judging by the Ukrainian President’s convulsive actions, he is not going to take reality into consideration. This poses a considerable danger because such disregard of reality threatens with continuation of the war and violence on the part of Kiev," Sergey Mironov declared.

According to the politician, the result of the elections is the fitting answer of people to such plans. He stressed that the legitimate authorities of DPR and LPR have all opportunities to counter new treats.

"If Kiev is still decides to play a gamble of this kind, it will be self-destructive for the ruling regime. It is necessary to take reality into consideration or you will have to blame only yourself," Sergey Mironov summarized.
