Deputy Alexander Romanovich, a member of the A JUST RUSSIA faction and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs received a delegation of the Embassy of Cuba in the Russian Federation.

Alejandro Simancas Marin, the Counselor of the Embassy of Cuba, and Daniel Enrique Karasko Vivanco, the First Secretary of the Embassy were on the delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Romanovich said he was glad to welcome the representatives of Cuba in the office of the A JUST RUSSIA faction. The Cuban delegates expressed their gratitude to Russia for its support of their country in the matter of lifting the trade, economic and financial embargo imposed by the US on Cuba. They also expressed their gratitude to Alexander Romanovich for his active assistance for the Cubans in their fighting against the repressive, non-democratic and restrictive measures against Cuba.

In the course of the talks, both parties discussed a range of issues of mutual interest.

In the light of the State Duma address to the UN General Assembly and the world parliaments about the necessity of lifting the trade, economic and financial embargo against the Republic of Cuba, the Embassy representatives expressed their hope for further cooperation with Russia on the given issue and many others.

At the close of the meeting, both parties confirmed their readiness to render assistance to strengthening and development of all-round relations between the two countries on the ground of mutual respect.
