Sergei Mironov, the Chairman of political party A JUST RUSSIA and the leader of the State Duma faction of the Party once again expressed his views about the political crisis in Ukraine. In his opinion, Russia should not interfere in the internal affairs of its neighboring state.

However, the politician states that we cannot be indifferent to the current situation ‘in the neighboring state and the events concerning the fraternal people’.

"There are actually no people indifferent to this situation", Mr. Mironov says. "People are really concerned about it because we cannot but carry an analogy between the events taking place in Kiev and other cities of Ukraine and the Russian reality in the past. To our great regret, everything seems to be familiar. Twenty years ago Moscow faced the same storming of government buildings and the rabid nationalists who were trying to lit up their heads. In Russia of that time, political standoff as well as it is in Ukraine now nearly transformed into a civil war".

According to Mr. Mironov’s opinion, it is necessary not only to give advice and to the Ukrainian politicians and give forecasts, but draw serious conclusions for our own political life.

Mr. Mironov also reminded about the following: "It is well-known that in Russia there are forces interested in radicalization of the political process as it is their only chance to make a claim about themselves (this way or another). On the opposite side there are people in power who would like to freeze the same political process now and forever under cover of the slogans of conservatism and stability. But sometimes the interests of these people who advocate different ideas do coincide It is highly important to avoid provocations from either side".

The politician is convinced that both the authorities and the opposition shall have ‘a feeling of responsibility before their people, understand the values of State and national statehood, and the constitutional principles’. "We, A JUST RUSSIA, do realize and understand these notions. That is why our paths with the Radicals have never crossed, and that’s why we will always demand from the authorities to solve all the political problems that have a public significance by means of a dialogue but not providing an administrative pressure on their opponents", declared the deputy.
